Steering Committee
The Steering Committee (SC) has the core task in the organisation. It is the decision-making body of the FDOF that:
- steers the internal activities of the FDO Forum based on a governance structure and
- adapt its structure where needed such as,
- starting new Working Groups and Task Forces and finishing old ones,
- checking the state of the Working Groups and Task Forces,
- renew its membership on a regular basis in an open process,
- maintains a strategic view based on deep insights of their members,
- continues developing the FDO community and bringing active people together,
- promotes the collaboration with initiatives with similar and related goals,
- looks for improved funding opportunities to strengthen its organisational capacity,
- appoints co-chairs (Executive Committee) that organise the SC work.
The decision making process in the SC will be guided by the principles of collaboration and consensus.
Meetings
The SC will meet
monthly, every 3rd Monday of the month at 15:30 UTC
and it is expected that SC members will actively contribute to the further development and promotion of FDOs inline with the tasks. SC membership will start with a rotation scheme in 2025, will involve the FDO community in making suggestions for new members and will install a Nomination Committee to guide through the nomination and appointment process. Details are described in the governance rules.
